How do you get into your router when someone has changed passwords and forgot them?

there should be a default password i have a d-link it was user=admin password=password

TRUST!!!!!!
That user name & password was also good for my Linksys router and FIOS's user name is the same and it's password is password1. I also learned that the password will add extra bullets in the box when you are entering it which I at first thought was a mistake of some kind 'cuz I got login error message.

Okay, I'm next. Let me know a convenient time for you. Weekends are best for me. I am so glad you are doing this, Todd, and at a very good time for me since I changed over to FIOS Wednesday. It is obvious how much faster it is than DSL. This is the exact reason why I joined this site in the first place was because I don't know any of this stuff and I need to in order to play. I don't know if you realize how much you are helping by doing this but it is brilliant. It is not that we don't want to do this, you see, it is just that some of us have no know how whatsoever. Thanks!

PS Best FIOS feature for me so far was when I called to try to set up my gaming applications in their modem/router (which all ISPs still consistently insist that they know nothing at all about!) ...I got to speak to Jeff and he was definitely not in India. He helped me get my router open and where to go to protocol to set up ports. That must be an outdated procedure though cause the tw09 booklet didn't list any ports at all. Since it wasn't the old path that I knew; I got lost as for what to do in the router after that and had to hang up with Jeff without making any settings in my router that I am certain still need to be set. I just find it completely incredulous that they cannot help you input your gaming need setups into your router and they make the !#%*@$ thing! Absolutely no one else offers this helpful setup service, except y'all.

Since the ISPs are still denying that gaming is even possible...aren't y'all on the cutting edge of technology here? I think you are ahead of your time and if you stay faithful with it...it could make everyone some fine money some day. Just my thought for today after my tedious ISP adventure of yesterday. Connection issue free games...here I come.

Karen, if you set your PS3 as the default DMZ server in the router, you will never have to worry about ports being forwarded ever again.   You will still want to keep upnp on, but it will completely open your PS3 to the internet

I tried tonight and thought everything was right but I couldn't connect for some reason. I'll try again tomorrow.

These are the directions I followed.

I can connect to 97.5% of people. I would like to put my PS3 in a DMZ but unfortunately only one device can be DMZ'd on my router. I can open ports though. I can't seem to find the ports to open for Tiger 09. I found ports for previous years but not 09. If anybody has the ports to forward for Tiger can you post them?

Dan you can set up the address for the DMZ (on your router) and then just direct your console to that address .... if your concern is that you use it for both consoles that isn't an issue unless your going to use them both at the same time.... the router doesnt look for a specific user ... it provides a DMZ address that either can use.

I didn't read that whole post, but I do it somewhat different....I guess I should actually post the instructions on how-to with some screen shots sometime.

If you need a hand doing it Irie, hit me on yahoo and I can walk you through it in just a few minutes.

Hmmm...I never thought of that. My router just gives me a drop down of each device and I check which one I want to DMZ. I guess I could static both my XBOX and PS3 to the same IP and kinda work around my router's limitations. Thanks for the idea.

It works I guess. Hard to tell because my PS3 connects almost always to people and my NAT is always level 2. I just have to remember to completely power down the device I am not using or I get moderate NAT even if the other device is signed out.

Maybe someone can help me... I have my PS3 set to static ip 192.168.1.150 and have that address set as DMZ in the router.  Problem is, unless I have uPnP on, I always get a NAT type 3.  I even forwarded a bunch of ports to that ip address, and I still get NAT 3 even with DMZ enabled.  If I use uPnP also, it immediately goes to NAT type 2.  Any ideas anyone?

I have uPnP on so I don't know. I have four different devices sharing media and I have less problems with it on.
